What is an 'epigenetic wellness regime'?
Former Team GB hockey player Sam Quek is now following an epigenetic wellness regime, after struggling to adapt to life after retirement from sport.
The hockey star, who appeared on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in 2016, reported feeling "down, anxious and nervous" before embarking on the gene-based programme.
But what does epigenetic wellness involve?
The term epigenetics was coined in the 1940s by the biologist Conrad Waddington, to describe the interactions between our specific genes and external, environmental cues and stresses – such as exposure to chemicals, smoking, stress, food and alcohol.
