Food Waste: Just Eat It

Just Eat It! is a fascinating new documentary chronicling the adventures of filmmakers Grant Baldwin and Jenny Rustemeyer as they attempt to live off discarded food for six months, highlighting the amount of food produced in North America that is never consumed.

The foods ranged from items rescued from dumpsters behind grocery stores, processing plants and wholesalers, to food purchased at reduced prices because the perishable foods had imperfections or because the processed foods were nearing expiration dates. The result is an insightful documentary, featuring interviews with food waste thought leaders Tristram Stuart, Dana Gunders, and Jonathan Bloom, examining the role of food waste in America, while presenting innovative ideas for reimagining the role of discarded foods.
