This self-labeled “volunteer-junkie” has been a steward at a local nature preserve, Pepperwood, for almost nine years, assisting with various outreach events and working as a field technician for climate scientists. She believes education is key to generating many ripples of change. Currently, her involvement with Sustainability at SRJC includes working collaboratively with students, faculty, and administrators to develop a community garden on the main campus with the aim to create a common space to foster empowerment that comes from growing your own food, healthy, luscious, beautiful food.
